LAURA BUI
Laura Bui, sometimes going by Laura Bui Sabalić, was born in 1996 in Zagreb. She moved to Brussels as a toddler and has lived there ever since. She studies art at Ecole de Recherche Graphique (ERG) with a focus on painting.
Her practice is driven by questions such as what is inspiration, what does it mean to work as an artist and how does work differ from leisure when the artist’s labour is so loosely defined? She places a heavy focus on theory in her process, drawing inspiration from psychoanalysis, the frankfurt school, writings on contextual art and modernist thought.
Bui Sabalić’s artworks take the form of paintings, installations, as well as some video work and writing.
